Congratulations you have reached the second trimester, if you are one of the lucky ones your morning sickness will have passed if not don’t worry the best of us are or were still suffering (myself included)
Having just gone through the first trimester must haves it is time to start making a few changes to assist with the second trimester.
Ever wondered what will help you through those next months of the Second Trimester? Having just gone through it I thought I would share my 8 Second Trimester must haves to keep you feeling comfortable whilst your body is starting change ready to carry a sweet baby.
This is my life saver when it comes to feeling normal, putting on makeup is essentially out the window except when absolutely required but this spray allows my skin to keep hydrated and fresh. I keep it on me at all times incase I need a bit of a pick me up.
As your stomach stretches to accomodate your gorgeous baby so does your skin I found adding a creamier belly butter to my after shower routine has kept my stomach less itchy and also does not leave my skin oily if need to add some on during the day due to some uncomfortable itching pains.
I craved orange juice, not all the time but a mouthful would satisfy me especially whilst really nauseous. My vitamin C of choice is as the nothing but range from Nudie Juice as it was not full of sugar (which I can not stand during pregnancy)
I always said I did not want to read any books but after reading a little about this one I knew I had to invest the time into at least one book and I do not regret it – I had an initial idea on what I would be doing routine wise but have changed completely after reading this book.
If you didn’t during the first trimester then now is the perfect time to invest in a maternity bra and you will not look back. I brought mine in a size bigger so when your milk starts to come in they will not be wasted. My Maternity Bra of choice is the Bonds Range they are comfortable -and wash well.
Jeans were one of the first and practically only clothing item I have invested in early in my pregnancy. I found on the casual days at work my pre-pregnancy jeans were sitting at the wrong height and whilst they fit they were quite uncomfortable for 8-10 hours. There are a wide variety of maternity jeans available but I have really liked the Jeanswest Maternity Range.
During the second trimester it’s time to get serious about organising – a baby notes book is perfect to keep track of what shops you have seen items at and track the starting of baby gifting. Having a list will help you keep on top of what you need to get as well as if someone close asks you what they could buy for you.
From now on for many years to come you will never be leaving the house without snacks – my go to snack during the second trimester was grapes they were easy to carry around and a fulfilling snack. Whatever your snack choice make sure you have them on hand at all times.
So that was my 8 second trimester must haves, we are nearly there and just have the third trimester to go!
Let me know in the comments if you have any second trimester must haves that you would recommend to anyone expecting a new bundle of joy.
